Shane West is caught up in the ‘Echelon Conspiracy’

Intelligent computer is linked to international plot

In the new thriller “Echelon Conspiracy,” Shane West (“E.R.,” “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”) stars as Max Peterson, a computer engineer who receives a mysterious cell phone that gives him prescient messages, such as warning him to cancel his trip on a plane before it crashes, or telling him which slot machine to play in order to hit the jackpot.

Ed Burns (“Saving Private Ryan”) and Ving Rhames (“Mission: Impossible,” “Pulp Fiction”) play NSA agents who show up and question Peterson about where he got the phone. Martin Sheen also stars as the director of the National Security Agency.

Similar to the recent film “Eagle Eye,” Peterson soon finds himself caught up in an international conspiracy connected to an intelligent computer system called Echelon.

Also starring Jonathan Pryce, Tamara Feldman, and Steven Elder, “Echelon Conspiracy” is directed by Greg Marcks (“11:14”) and is released by After Dark Films. For more information, see the official “Echelon Conspiracy” Web site.
