‘Quantum of Solace’ opens November 14

Daniel Craig returns as James Bond in the latest 007 adventure

Picking up immediately after the events in “Casino Royale,” the story of James Bond continues in “Quantum of Solace,” the latest 007 film from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sony/Columbia Pictures.

Continuing their roles from “Casino Royale” are Daniel Craig as British secret agent James Bond; Judi Dench as his supervisor, M; Jeffrey Wright as CIA agent Felix Leiter; Giancarlo Giannini as European spy René Mathis; and Jesper Christensen as the mysterious Mr. White.

New characters introduced in “Quantum of Solace” include villain Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric, who previously co-starred with Daniel Craig in “Munich”); South American agent Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko); MI6 agent Strawberry Fields (Gemma Arterton); and South American antagonist General Medrano (Joaquin Cosío).

“Quantum of Solace,” directed by Marc Forster, is the 22nd film produced by EON Productions in the official James Bond series, based on the character created by Ian Fleming.

Two additional films -- “Casino Royale” (1967) and “Never Say Never Again” (1983) -- were produced by other studios based on the James Bond character. There was also a 1954 TV adaptation of “Casino Royale” on CBS’s “Climax Mystery Theater,” bringing the total number of James Bond’s screen appearances to 25.
