‘Burn Notice’ is hotter than ever

Second season of USA Network spy series sees high ratings, new faces

“Burn Notice,” the original USA Network series by executive producer Matt Nix, returned for its second season on July 10, 2008, and saw ratings up 23 percent in the 25-54 demographic over those for the series premiere the previous summer. USA Network reported that the total viewers for the second season premiere were up 33 percent over the average for season one episodes.

Jeffrey Donovan - Burn Notice

“Burn Notice” stars Jeffrey Donovan (“Touching Evil,” “Hitch”) as Michael Westen, a blacklisted spy based in Miami, who uses his training to help out those in need while at the same time trying to track down the government agents responsible for “burning” him.

Gabrielle Anwar - Burn Notice

The series also stars Gabrielle Anwar (“The Tudors,” “Scent of A Woman,” “Body Snatchers”) as Fiona, a beautiful ex-IRA operative and Westen’s ex-girlfriend.

Bruce Campbell - Burn Notice

Bruce Campbell (“Evil Dead,” “Army of Darkness,” “Spider-Man”) plays Westen’s buddy Sam, a washed-up military intelligence contact who is keeping an eye on Westen for the Feds.

Sharon Gless - Burn Notice

Emmy Award-winner Sharon Gless (“Queer as Folk,” “Cagney & Lacey”) co-stars as Madeline, Michael’s mother, who couldn’t be happier to have her son back in town.

Tricia Helfer - Burn Notice

Joining the cast for the second season is Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Galactica,” “Behind the Camera: Charlie’s Angels”) as Carla, the woman who may be behind Michael’s burn notice.

The second season of “Burn Notice” comprises nine one-hour episodes through summer 2008, to be followed by seven more episodes beginning January 2009.

“Burn Notice” was created, written and produced by Matt Nix (“Chasing Vermeer”). Mikkel Bondesen (“Catch That Kid”) also serves as executive producer.
